Karin Veltman

Karin Veltman joined the Research Development Office of the Erasmus MC in January 2019 as Advisor EU Research Funding. She has a background in chemistry (MSc University of Groningen) and obtained her PhD in environmental sciences from the Radboud University Nijmegen. After 3 years as a post-doctoral researcher at the Industrial Ecology Programme in Trondheim, Norway, she returned to Nijmegen as a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellow. Prior to joining the RDO, Karin was a researcher at the University of Michigan (USA) in the Environmental Health Sciences department, where her research focused on quantifying the impact of chemical exposure on embryonic development, more specifically on perturbations of redox homeostasis. During her research career, Karin has gained experience in grant writing; she has written personal grants (EU Marie Curie, NWO Veni) and has been involved in developing project proposals for, amongst others, the EU FP-7 Programme and the US NIH.  Karin Veltman
