IrisPlex and HIrisPlex Eye and Hair Colour DNA Phenotyping Webtool

Welcome to the Erasmus MC Forensic Molecular Biology Department's Webtool for Appearance DNA Phenotyping.

With the advancement of appearance DNA phenotyping in Forensic and Anthropological usage, as a first attempt we provide the easy to use interactive IrisPlex and HIrisPlex Eye and Hair Colour DNA Phenotyping Webtool. This webtool allows obtaining eye and hair colour phenotypes from full or partial IrisPlex and HIrisPlex DNA genotypes using large underlying genotype and phenotype databases we previously developed and published. For the generation of IrisPlex and HIrisPlex genotype profiles we kindly refer to our previous publications on IrisPlex and HIrisplex. In case a full IrisPlex or HIrisPlex profile is generated and used for input, this webtool provides eye and/or hair colour probabilities using the IrisPlex eye colour and/or HIrisPlex hair colour prediction models as published previously. In case a partial IrisPlex or HIrisPlex profile is generated and used for input, the webtool generates eye and/or hair colour probabilities based on eye and hair prediction models that are rebuilt based on the input DNA markers only, with particular constrains as described in the User Manual and in the HIrisPlex developmental validation paper.
