Johanna Bosch (Joke)

Johanna is a Clinical Epidemiologist at the Departments of Radiology and Epidemiology at the Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

After receiving her PhD in medical sciences at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands (1997) she moved to Tokyo, Japan where she hold a position as Clinical Researcher at the Department of Health Policy and Management, Keio University Medical School, Tokyo, Japan. In 1999, she accepted a position as Decision Scientist at the Institute of Technology Assessment and Department of Radiology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston USA. In 2000, she was promoted to assistant professor at Harvard Medical School. In 2003, she started working at Erasmus MC at the ART group where she currently holds a position as associate professor. The results of her research resulted in 50 publications and it has been commended by several international clinical and methodological societies. Furthermore, Johanna serves on scientific committees of (international) societies and she is a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed medical journals.

Johanna’s research focus is primarily on the assessment of minimal invasive therapies for cardiovascular disease. She’s using the techniques from clinical epidemiology including metaanalysis, decision modeling, cost-effectiveness analysis, and (preference-based) quality-of-life assessment.
